bound4blue has successfully installed four eSAIL suction sails, each measuring 22 meters, on the Marflet Marine vessel, Santiago I. This development marks Marflet Marine as the inaugural Spanish merchant fleet owner to integrate wind-assisted propulsion, specifically suction sails, into its operations. The technology is designed to harness wind power, thereby reducing the vessel's reliance on conventional fuel and lowering operational emissions.
This installation represents a tangible step towards decarbonization within the maritime sector, aligning with broader industry goals for environmental sustainability.
