Everllence has announced the signing of Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) with German ferry operator TT-Line. These agreements encompass four vessels that utilize liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel. The announcement was made during the 2026 SMM maritime trade fair held in Hamburg.
The LTSAs apply to two new RoPax (roll-on/roll-off passenger) vessels currently being constructed at the China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) Co. Additionally, the agreements cover two existing vessels within TT-Line's fleet: the Nils Holgersson, which commenced operations in 2022, and the Peter Pan, launched in 2023. Both of these operational ferries were also built by China Merchants and are equipped with Everllence propulsion systems, specifically 2 × 6L51/60 DF and 2 × 8L51/60 DF engines.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signals TT-Line's continued commitment to LNG as a marine fuel, which aligns with broader industry trends towards decarbonization. The long-term service agreements ensure the ongoing operational reliability and maintenance of these vessels, potentially contributing to more consistent service schedules and reduced unexpected disruptions on their routes. This stability can be beneficial for planning cargo movements, particularly for RoPax services which often carry a mix of passenger vehicles and commercial freight.
