Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) has announced the opening of a new healthcare logistics center at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). This dedicated facility, spanning 3,505 square meters, is situated within the airport's Cargo City South area, integrated into K+N's existing 13,000 square meter complex. A key feature of the new center is its direct connection to the tarmac, designed to streamline the handling and movement of sensitive pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this expansion signifies enhanced capacity and specialized infrastructure for air cargo shipments requiring stringent temperature control and security, particularly for the pharmaceutical sector. The direct tarmac access is expected to reduce transit times and minimize exposure risks for high-value and time-sensitive healthcare goods, potentially improving schedule reliability and reducing the likelihood of damage or spoilage. This development could offer forwarders more reliable and efficient options for their pharma clients utilizing Frankfurt as a gateway.
