Challenge Group is introducing new direct air cargo services utilizing Boeing 777-300ERSF freighters, connecting Liège with Mumbai and Shanghai. These operations are scheduled to commence on July 2, 2026. The Mumbai route will offer two flights per week, while the Shanghai service will operate three times weekly, supplementing the Group's existing network to Zhengzhou.
This expansion aims to support the transportation of key commodities, including pharmaceuticals, technology components, and project cargo, catering to the growing demand in these sectors. For freight forwarders, this development signifies increased air cargo capacity and direct routing options between Europe and major Asian economic hubs. The new services could offer more reliable schedules and potentially competitive rates for specific cargo types, particularly for time-sensitive or high-value shipments to and from India and China. Forwarders should monitor capacity and pricing as these new services become operational to optimize their routing and cost strategies.
