Oktan Energy, a marine fuel supplier based in Poland, has announced the operational deployment of two new sea-going tankers. The vessels, named Kobe Pioneer and Yokohama Pioneer, have joined the company's bunkering fleet. The Kobe Pioneer arrived in Poland from Singapore in late November, while the Yokohama Pioneer began operations in mid-December of the previous year.
These additions complement Oktan Energy's existing fleet of sea-going tankers, which includes the 5,885 metric tonne (mt) OKTAN, the 3,550 mt STRAITVIEW, and the 2,100 mt ANGON. The company also operates the 2,060 mt JANINAA in Szczecin and the 1,223 mt INKA in Gdańsk, alongside five smaller 450-mt bunker barges.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this expansion signifies increased availability and potentially more efficient bunkering services in Polish ports. A larger and more modern bunkering fleet can contribute to quicker vessel turnarounds and improved schedule reliability for ships calling at these locations, ultimately impacting transit times and operational costs.
