Oman Air Cargo has introduced a new daily Road Feeder Service (RFS) operating between Dubai and Muscat. This new offering is designed to bolster cargo connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Oman, facilitating more robust regional freight movements. The service is capable of handling a diverse range of cargo, including time-sensitive perishables, general cargo, and larger shipments typically compatible with widebody aircraft, which are often too big for narrowbody planes.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new RFS provides increased flexibility in routing cargo between the UAE and Oman. It offers a reliable alternative or supplement to airfreight for certain types of goods, potentially optimizing lead times and costs for shipments that might otherwise face capacity constraints on direct air routes or size limitations on specific aircraft. The daily frequency ensures consistent service, which is crucial for supply chain planning and maintaining inventory levels. This development could lead to more efficient multimodal solutions for regional distribution.
