Ohmium, a manufacturer of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysers, and Hynfra P.S.A., a developer specializing in green hydrogen and green ammonia projects, have formalized a master cooperation agreement. This partnership aims to accelerate the development of significant green hydrogen initiatives across Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman. The agreement specifically outlines collaboration during the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase for these projects.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ohmium will contribute its technical expertise and provide specialized support related to PEM electrolyser technology throughout both the FEED and subsequent development stages of the three projects. The primary objective of these ventures is the production of green hydrogen, which will then be utilized for green ammonia applications. This strategic focus is intended to bolster energy security and foster long-term resilience within the host nations.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this development signals potential future demand for specialized logistics services in these regions. The construction and operation of large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia facilities will require the transport of heavy-lift and oversized equipment, including electrolysers, and potentially the future movement of green ammonia as a commodity. This could lead to increased project cargo opportunities and specialized handling requirements in ports and inland logistics networks in Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman.
