Maritime software developer Dualog has fully integrated its internal messaging and file-sharing functions onto its proprietary Workspace platform. Previously, the company relied on third-party tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams for daily communications. This transition signifies Dualog's confidence in its new ship-to-shore collaboration tool, which it recently launched for external shipping companies.
For the past three months, all Dualog offices and departments have utilized Workspace for their day-to-day communication needs. This internal deployment served as a practical test, allowing the company to fine-tune the platform and ensure its robustness before offering it to clients.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development indicates a potential new option for enhancing communication between shore-based teams and vessels. A unified platform designed specifically for maritime operations could streamline information exchange, improve data security, and reduce reliance on general-purpose communication tools, potentially leading to greater efficiency in managing shipments and vessel movements.
