Moroccan heavy-lift and logistics provider Somalev Cranes & Logistics is close to finishing two significant industrial projects: solid sulfur storage halls for the state-owned OCP Group. The initial phase of their work involved handling and installing more than 1,000 tonnes of precast concrete arches. These components were lifted to heights of up to 30 meters as part of the construction for the 100-kiloton capacity M’Zinda solid sulfur hall.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this highlights ongoing industrial development in Morocco, particularly within the mining and chemical sectors. Such projects often generate demand for specialized heavy-lift and project cargo services, impacting vessel capacity for oversized cargo and requiring detailed route planning for inland transport. It also signals potential for future logistics opportunities in the region as industrial infrastructure expands.
