Avianca Cargo has initiated a new weekly freighter service, establishing a direct connection to Viru Viru International Airport (VVI) in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. This new route operates on a circuit from Miami to Bogotá, then to Viru Viru, followed by Santiago de Chile, and finally back to Miami. Each flight provides a substantial capacity of up to 60 tonnes.
This strategic expansion aims to significantly improve Bolivia's air cargo connectivity. By routing through Avianca Cargo's primary hub in Bogotá, the service facilitates stronger trade links between Bolivia and key markets in North America, Europe, and the Southern Cone region of South America.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new service means increased air cargo capacity and more direct routing options for shipments to and from Bolivia. The enhanced connectivity through Bogotá could lead to more efficient transit times and potentially more competitive rates for cargo moving between these regions. It also provides a reliable weekly option for planning logistics into and out of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, which is crucial for supply chain stability.
