Air China Cargo has expanded its commitment with Airbus, ordering an additional four A350F freighters. This new order brings the airline's total acquisition of the A350F model to ten aircraft. The strategic decision is part of Air China Cargo's broader plan to significantly increase its cargo capacity and optimize its fleet to better serve growing international freight requirements.
These new A350F aircraft are intended to operate alongside Air China Cargo's current fleet of Airbus A330-200P2F converted freighters. The A350F's capabilities are expected to enhance the airline's operational reach, particularly on long-haul and medium-to-long-haul international cargo routes.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this fleet expansion signals a potential increase in air cargo capacity out of China. More dedicated freighter aircraft could lead to improved space availability and potentially more competitive rates on key international lanes, especially for larger or time-sensitive shipments. It also suggests Air China Cargo is positioning itself for sustained growth in global airfreight, offering more reliable options for shippers.
