Yusen Terminals, which is 51% owned by the container shipping line Ocean Network Express (ONE), has successfully extended its lease agreement at the Port of Los Angeles. The new deal secures the company's presence at Berths 212-224 until 2056, adding three decades to its operational tenure at the crucial West Coast gateway. This long-term commitment signifies stability for the terminal's operations.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this lease extension provides long-term certainty regarding terminal capacity and operational consistency at one of the busiest ports in North America. It suggests that Yusen Terminals will continue to be a stable option for cargo handling, particularly for shipments associated with ONE. This stability can help in long-term planning for transpacific routes and reduce potential disruptions related to terminal operator changes or capacity shifts.
