Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has officially opened its new air cargo terminal at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS). The facility spans more than 25,000 square meters and is strategically located within the airport's Cargoport Zone.
This expansion is designed to bolster WFS's operations and support its 380 current customers in the greater Lyon area. The project is also expected to generate over 300 direct and indirect employment opportunities locally, contributing to regional economic growth.
For freight forwarders and supply chain managers, the inauguration of this new terminal signifies a notable increase in air cargo handling capacity and potentially improved service levels at Lyon-Saint Exupéry. This could lead to more efficient processing of airfreight, reduced transit times, and greater flexibility for cargo routing through this key French regional airport. The enhanced infrastructure may also attract new air cargo services, offering more options for shippers moving goods to and from the region.
