Kingdom Konsult (KK), a sustainability and energy consultancy based in Qatar, has entered into an exclusive strategic partnership with The Biofuel Company of Saudi Arabia (TBFCO). The collaboration aims to introduce B100 biofuel to the State of Qatar. Under this agreement, KK will be responsible for market development and engaging with key stakeholders within Qatar. TBFCO will serve as the primary supplier of B100 biofuel, also providing essential technical expertise, necessary certifications, product documentation, and deployment support.
The maritime industry is identified as a crucial target sector for TBFCO's biofuel offerings. This initiative aligns with global efforts to decarbonize shipping and reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuels. For freight forwarders and logistics professionals operating in or through Qatar, the availability of B100 biofuel could present new options for sustainable shipping. This development may influence carrier choices for greener routes and potentially impact bunker fuel costs, especially for vessels committed to lower emissions. It also signals a growing trend in the Middle East towards adopting alternative marine fuels.
Beyond maritime, TBFCO also targets other significant industries including aviation, construction, mining, and off-grid power generation, indicating a broader push for biofuel adoption across multiple sectors in the region.
