Markus Schmidt has been appointed as the new Vice President Cargo at Luxaviation ONE, a business aircraft operator. He brings more than 20 years of international experience in the air cargo sector to this position. Schmidt's primary responsibilities will include leading and further developing Luxaviation's existing air cargo team, as well as expanding the company's overall air cargo activities. Prior to this role, Schmidt was with Chapman Freeborn Airchartering.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this appointment signals Luxaviation ONE's intent to grow its presence in the air cargo market. Increased activity from business aircraft operators in cargo could potentially offer additional capacity options, particularly for urgent or specialized shipments that might benefit from the flexibility of private aviation. This development might also lead to new routing possibilities or niche services in the airfreight sector.
