Qatar Airways Cargo has announced an expansion of its freighter network, adding new services to several key destinations in Europe and the United States. These new routes, part of the airline's winter schedule, will utilize Boeing 777 freighter aircraft.
The new European connections include Copenhagen (Denmark) and Warsaw (Poland). The Copenhagen service will operate on a Doha-Budapest-Copenhagen-Doha loop. In the United States, new freighter flights will serve New York JFK, Chicago, and Dallas.
For freight forwarders and ops managers, this expansion signifies increased air cargo capacity and potentially more direct routing options for shipments between the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The additional frequencies to major US hubs and European capitals could offer greater flexibility in booking and improved transit times, especially for time-sensitive cargo. It may also help stabilize or reduce air freight rates on these lanes by boosting available lift.
