Felbermayr recently executed a complex heavy-lift operation for a hotel expansion project located in Haus im Ennstal, Austria. The project necessitated the deployment of a 350-tonne mobile crane to precisely install substantial concrete elements. This task was particularly challenging due to the site's alpine location, which presented significant logistical hurdles, including restricted access points and winding mountain roads.
The operation required the crane to achieve a considerable lifting radius of 58 meters, underscoring the precision and power needed for the installation. The successful completion of this project highlights Felbermayr's capability in managing oversized cargo and heavy-lift operations within demanding environments.
For freight forwarders and logistics managers, this showcases the specialized expertise required for project cargo in difficult-to-access regions. Such operations often involve extensive route planning, specialized equipment, and skilled personnel, which can impact lead times and overall project costs. Understanding these complexities is crucial when quoting or planning shipments that include heavy or oversized components, especially in mountainous or urban areas with limited access.
