Emirates SkyCargo has substantially increased its air cargo services to South America, introducing seven additional weekly freighter flights earlier in the year. This network expansion includes three extra flights to Buenos Aires, two more to Sao Paulo, one additional service to Bogota, and another to Quito. The Dubai-based carrier reported that these new flights have directly contributed to double-digit percentage volume growth from the region, indicating strong market demand.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this expansion by Emirates SkyCargo translates into increased air cargo capacity and more frequent options for shipments originating from or destined for key South American markets. The added flights offer greater flexibility in scheduling and potentially improved transit times, which can be crucial for time-sensitive cargo. This enhanced connectivity may also help stabilize or reduce air freight rates on these specific lanes due to the increased supply, offering better cost-efficiency for shippers.
