The European Union's exports of goods to Canada reached €48.8 billion in 2025, as reported by Eurostat, the EU's statistical office. During the same period, imports from Canada amounted to €33 billion. This trade balance resulted in a significant surplus of €15.8 billion for the EU.
This export figure marks a 1.2% increase in European Union shipments to Canada compared to the preceding year, indicating a steady growth in trade relations between the two economic blocs.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, these figures highlight the continued importance of the transatlantic trade lane. A growing trade surplus for the EU suggests consistent demand for European goods in the Canadian market, which could translate into stable or increased cargo volumes on westbound routes. Forwarders should monitor these trends as they may influence capacity availability and freight rates for sea and air cargo services between Europe and Canada.
