DHL is commemorating 35 years of its presence in Poland, a period during which its operations have significantly expanded. Starting in 1991 with express services, the company has grown to encompass all five of its business divisions within the country. This expansion has led to a substantial workforce of nearly 10,000 employees.
Poland has emerged as the DHL Group's largest market in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and is recognized as the European Union's sixth-largest economy, with its GDP projected to reach €923 billion in 2025. This growth underscores Poland's increasing importance as a logistics hub.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, DHL's sustained investment and expansion in Poland signify robust infrastructure and increased service capabilities in the CEE region. This development suggests improved connectivity, potentially more efficient transit times, and a broader range of logistics solutions for shipments moving to, from, or through Poland. The opening of a major International Logistics Center further enhances the country's capacity for handling significant cargo volumes, which could positively impact supply chain planning and operational flexibility.
