Flotation Energy, an Edinburgh-based floating wind developer, and London-headquartered Harbour Energy, a UK oil and gas producer, have formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This agreement outlines their joint commitment to investigate the potential for electrifying oil and gas installations in the UK North Sea. The primary goal of this initiative is to leverage floating offshore wind technology to significantly reduce operational emissions from existing platforms and to establish sustainable power sources for future energy developments in the region.
