Aviator Airport Alliance has signed a significant long-term contract with Lufthansa Group for comprehensive ground handling services across three key airports in Norway: Bergen, Trondheim, and Tromsø. This agreement is scheduled to begin in phases between February and April 2027 and will manage approximately 1,760 aircraft turnarounds annually. The services provided under this contract include essential ground operations such as passenger and baggage handling, aircraft de-icing, and critical cargo and freight handling.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this development signifies a stable operational environment for Lufthansa Group's air cargo movements through these Norwegian gateways. While not directly impacting air freight rates or capacity, the long-term nature of the contract suggests consistent service quality and operational reliability for cargo moving via Lufthansa's network in and out of Bergen, Trondheim, and Tromsø. This ensures that the ground logistics for air cargo remain streamlined, which is crucial for maintaining supply chain efficiency and predictability.
