Waberer's Group is undertaking a substantial expansion of its logistics operations in Serbia through its subsidiary, MD International (MDI). This growth will occur in two distinct phases. The initial phase, expected to conclude by the end of 2026, involves MDI transitioning its current warehouse activities to a new 8,000 square meter facility located in Belgrade.
Following this, the second phase will commence in early 2027 with the construction of an entirely new distribution center. This larger facility is planned to encompass a total of 20,000 square meters of warehouse space, significantly boosting MDI's storage and distribution capabilities in the region.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this expansion signals increased warehousing and distribution options within Serbia and the broader Balkan region. Enhanced capacity could lead to more efficient cross-docking, improved inventory management, and potentially faster transit times for goods moving through this strategic corridor. It may also offer more flexibility for consolidating shipments or managing last-mile delivery within Serbia, particularly for road freight operations.
