Croatian shipbuilder Iskra Shipyard has signed a contract valued at €2.24 million for the design and construction of a new high-speed firefighting vessel. The client for this project is the Zadar County Firefighting Association. The vessel, which will measure 15 meters in length, is scheduled for delivery within a 12-month timeframe.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, while this specific vessel is not a cargo carrier, it represents ongoing activity in the shipbuilding sector, particularly for specialized craft. Such projects can indirectly influence port services or local maritime infrastructure development, though direct impact on cargo rates or capacity is minimal. It signifies investment in maritime safety and emergency response within the region.
