dnata Italy has transitioned 300 airport operations employees from temporary to permanent contracts at its key Italian hubs: Rome Fiumicino (FCO), Milan Malpensa (MXP), and Milan Linate (LIN). This strategic move is designed to provide long-term employment stability for its workforce, support continuous skills development, and bolster the overall operational resilience of its services in Italy.
This conversion reflects dnata's ongoing commitment and investment in one of its most significant European operations. In Italy, dnata currently employs approximately 5,000 individuals and provides ground handling and cargo services to more than 60 airlines.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signals increased stability in ground handling services at these crucial Italian airports. Permanent staffing can lead to more experienced and dedicated teams, potentially improving service quality, efficiency, and reliability for air cargo operations. Reduced staff turnover typically results in better trained personnel, which can mitigate risks associated with cargo handling and ensure smoother turnarounds for airfreight shipments.
