Transport en Logistiek Nederland (TLN) recently endorsed the Work in NL covenant, an initiative by the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment. The primary goal of this signing is to bolster the provision of information and overall support for migrant workers, as well as their employers, operating within the Netherlands' transport and logistics industry.
This program is designed to offer migrant workers improved access to essential resources, including housing, healthcare, and fair employment conditions. For freight forwarders and logistics operators in the Netherlands, this initiative is significant as it addresses the ongoing challenge of labor shortages, particularly for drivers and warehouse staff. By facilitating better integration and support for migrant workers, the program aims to create a more stable and attractive working environment, potentially easing recruitment difficulties and improving retention rates. This could lead to more reliable capacity and reduced operational disruptions caused by staffing issues.
The Work in NL program seeks to streamline processes for both workers and companies, ensuring compliance with labor laws and promoting ethical recruitment practices. This proactive approach by TLN and the government is intended to professionalize the employment of international talent, which is crucial for the continuity and growth of the Dutch logistics sector.
