Lufthansa Cargo recently completed the transport of a significant collection of artworks from Museum Berggruen in Berlin to The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. This shipment, handled in collaboration with logistics partner Hasenkamp, included more than 95 paintings, watercolors, drawings, and sculptures. These pieces are now featured in the exhibition titled "Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen," which commenced on May 20th.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this type of specialized cargo movement underscores the stringent requirements for handling high-value, sensitive goods. It involves meticulous planning for temperature control, security, customs clearance, and specialized crating, often requiring dedicated air cargo services. While not impacting general freight rates or capacity, it demonstrates a niche but vital segment of the air cargo market where precision and reliability are paramount.
