Emirates SkyCargo is significantly expanding its freighter operations in East and Southeast Asia. The carrier plans to increase both flight frequencies and the number of destinations served by its cargo aircraft. This strategic move aims to strengthen the air cargo connectivity between major manufacturing centers in the region and key global markets, including the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
This expansion is a direct response to rising demand for air freight services. In the fiscal year 2025/2026, Emirates SkyCargo transported over 439,000 tonnes from the region, indicating robust market activity.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this expansion means increased capacity and potentially more flexible routing options for shipments originating from or destined for East and Southeast Asia. The added frequencies could lead to improved transit times and better schedule reliability, especially for time-sensitive cargo. It may also offer more competitive pricing options due to increased supply in these trade lanes.
