Ascent Global Logistics and Global Crossing Airlines Group (GlobalX) have officially ended their exclusive brokerage agreement, originally established in 2023. This development comes after GlobalX voluntarily dismissed its lawsuit against Ascent. The lawsuit, initiated in June, accused Ascent of violating the terms of their brokerage agreement, which GlobalX claimed resulted in lost revenue and increased operational costs for the airline.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, the resolution of this dispute between an air cargo carrier and a logistics provider signals a return to stability in their respective partnership strategies. While the specific terms of the settlement are not disclosed, the termination of the exclusive agreement could open up new capacity options for forwarders who previously relied on or were restricted by the GlobalX-Ascent partnership. It may also lead to adjustments in air cargo routing and pricing as both entities pursue new or revised commercial relationships.
