Lufthansa Group has introduced Globe Cross, a new platform designed to bolster its digital offerings in cross-border logistics. This strategic move is intended to streamline and optimize the movement of goods across international borders, leveraging digital solutions to improve efficiency and transparency within the supply chain.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this initiative could translate into more efficient booking processes, better tracking capabilities, and potentially reduced administrative burdens when handling air cargo shipments with Lufthansa. Enhanced digital tools often lead to quicker customs clearance and improved overall transit times, which are critical for time-sensitive cargo. While the immediate impact on rates is not specified, increased efficiency can lead to cost savings in the long run through optimized operations and reduced delays.
