Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) has officially opened a new airfreight cross-dock facility located in Hyderabad, India. This strategic expansion aims to accommodate the increasing demand for pharmaceutical cargo originating from the city, a significant hub for the pharma industry.
The new cross-dock spans 248 square meters and is equipped with specialized temperature-controlled environments. These include zones maintained at 2°C to 8°C and 15°C to 25°C, crucial for preserving the integrity of sensitive pharmaceutical products during transit. The facility also complies with K+N’s stringent global HealthChain quality standard, which ensures adherence to Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and other relevant industry regulations.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies enhanced capacity and specialized handling for pharmaceutical shipments from Hyderabad. The dedicated temperature control and adherence to high-quality standards mean greater reliability and reduced risk for temperature-sensitive cargo. This could lead to more efficient routing options and potentially improved transit times for pharma exports from the region, offering a more robust supply chain solution for clients in the life sciences sector.
