Cargo handler Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS) has inaugurated a new, certified Pharma Center at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). This facility, which took nearly two years to develop, substantially expands FCS's capabilities for handling temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments. The new center is CEIV- and GDP-certified, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards for pharmaceutical logistics.
This expansion quadruples FCS's dedicated space for temperature-controlled cargo, bringing it to approximately 3,300 square meters. The new Pharma Center centralizes all operations related to pharmaceutical handling, streamlining processes and improving efficiency for cold chain logistics.
For freight forwarders and shippers, this development means enhanced capacity and reliability for pharmaceutical air cargo transiting through Frankfurt. The increased space and specialized certification can help mitigate risks associated with temperature excursions, offering more secure and compliant handling for sensitive pharma products. This could potentially improve transit times and reduce the need for complex, multi-vendor cold chain solutions at the airport.
