Cooling Photonics has introduced a new material designed to significantly decrease the internal temperature of standard shipping containers. This innovative solution can lower temperatures by up to 22°C, operating entirely without external power consumption.
This development holds substantial implications for freight forwarders and shippers dealing with temperature-sensitive goods. By mitigating heat ingress, the material could extend the viability of transporting certain perishable or heat-sensitive products in general-purpose containers, potentially reducing the need for more expensive and energy-intensive reefer containers. This could lead to cost savings on equipment, fuel, and electricity, while also offering a more environmentally friendly option for maintaining cargo integrity during transit.
