Meyer Werft has officially started the assembly of the second gigablock for Disney Cruise Line's upcoming vessel, the Disney Believe. This significant construction phase began with a traditional keel-laying ceremony at the shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. During the ceremony, a specially minted Tinker Bell coin was placed beneath the keel, a customary practice to bring good fortune to the ship.
This event marks a key milestone in the construction of the 144,000-gross-ton cruise ship. For freight forwarders, while direct impact on cargo rates or capacity is minimal, such newbuild announcements contribute to the overall fleet growth in the maritime sector, indirectly influencing shipyard capacity and potentially future vessel deployment strategies, though this specific vessel is for passenger cruise operations.
