KOTUG International B.V. has finalized the acquisition of a majority stake in Vortex Offshore, a maritime services provider based in Dubai. This strategic move is set to bolster KOTUG's operational footprint and service offerings within the Middle East region.
Vortex Offshore currently manages a fleet of 11 offshore vessels, with an additional four vessels under construction. These assets are primarily deployed to support offshore energy projects, marine transportation, and towage activities across the Middle East. Despite the acquisition, Vortex Offshore will maintain its existing name and management structure, ensuring continuity in its operations.
KOTUG has maintained a presence in the Middle East for several years, operating a regional office in Dubai. This acquisition represents a significant expansion of its capabilities in the area. For freight forwarders and supply chain analysts, this development signals increased capacity and specialized services for project cargo and offshore logistics in the Middle East. It could lead to more integrated solutions for complex shipments requiring offshore support, potentially streamlining operations and offering more reliable options for energy-related projects in the region.
