Hillwood is currently undertaking the construction of a new $20 million heavy-haul bridge within its AllianceTexas development. This strategic infrastructure project is designed to significantly improve rail access for approximately 15 million square feet of industrial facilities by directly connecting them to the BNSF Railway network. The bridge is also intended to facilitate future autonomous freight operations, signaling a move towards more technologically advanced logistics.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies enhanced intermodal connectivity and potentially more efficient rail services for cargo moving through the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Improved rail access can lead to reduced transit times and costs for shipments originating from or destined for the industrial spaces within AllianceTexas. The capacity for heavy-haul transport also benefits project cargo and oversized shipments, offering more direct and streamlined routing options.
The project is slated for completion in early 2027, at which point the new bridge is expected to be fully operational, providing a critical link for logistics and supply chain stakeholders in the area.
