On September 18, an NYK-operated pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) commenced its maiden voyage to Chan May Port, situated near Hue City in central Vietnam. This significant event marks the establishment of the first direct export service for finished vehicles from this region, providing a novel automotive logistics solution for Central Vietnam.
This new shipping route is expected to offer a more efficient and direct channel for automotive manufacturers in Central Vietnam to export their products. Previously, vehicles might have required more complex or indirect transport arrangements to reach international markets.
For freight forwarders and shippers, this development introduces a new, dedicated option for vehicle exports from Vietnam's central region. It could lead to reduced transit times and potentially lower logistics costs for automotive cargo originating from or destined for this area.
