GTT Marine, a division of the GTT Group, has announced the commercial release of Bridge Operations Quality Assurance (BOQA). This new functionality, integrated into the Safety Insights by Danelec platform, is designed to enhance maritime safety by extending the utility of Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) data. Traditionally, VDR data has been primarily used for post-incident investigations. However, BOQA aims to transform this into a tool for proactive and continuous safety improvement.
BOQA automatically analyzes VDR data to identify trends and potential risks in bridge operations, allowing for early intervention and corrective actions. This shift from reactive analysis to proactive quality assurance can help prevent incidents before they occur, improving overall vessel safety and operational efficiency.
