ESL Shipping has announced the delivery of the *Luxomar*, marking the completion of its 12-vessel Green Coaster series. This 5,400 DWT plug-in hybrid vessel, like its predecessors, was constructed at Chowgule & Company in India. The 90-meter-long, Cyprus-flagged vessel is equipped with a Yanmar 1,920 kW main engine. The *Luxomar* is now embarking on its maiden voyage from India to Europe.
This delivery signifies the successful conclusion of a significant strategic investment program for ESL Shipping. The initiative aimed to modernize its fleet with more environmentally friendly and efficient vessels, thereby strengthening its market position and operational capabilities.
For freight forwarders and shippers, the introduction of these new, more efficient vessels into ESL Shipping's fleet could translate into improved schedule reliability and potentially more stable freight rates on the routes they serve, as operational costs related to fuel efficiency are optimized. The enhanced capacity and modern technology may also contribute to a more robust service offering, particularly for cargo moving between India and Europe.
With the entire series now delivered, ESL Shipping is expected to fully integrate these vessels into its operations, leveraging their hybrid technology for reduced emissions and improved performance.
