Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK's largest port operator, has made a significant investment in new pinning stations for its Humber container terminals. Four of these crucial pieces of infrastructure have already been installed at the Port of Immingham, with further installations planned for other terminals in the region. The project was executed in collaboration with local supplier Grimsby Pipework & Engineering Ltd (GPE).
These pinning stations are designed to enhance safety protocols during the handling of containers, a critical aspect of port operations. By providing a dedicated and secure area for workers to manage container twistlocks, the new equipment aims to reduce risks associated with manual handling and improve overall operational efficiency.
