Volvo Trucks has announced an expansion of its electric truck portfolio with new rigid versions of the Volvo FH Electric and FH Aero Electric. These updated models will feature a significantly larger battery capacity of 640 kWh. This enhancement allows the trucks to manage combined vehicle weights of up to 80 tons.
The strategic focus for these new electric trucks is on heavy-duty applications, including longer heavy vehicles (LHVs) and challenging long-distance transport routes. This move by Volvo aims to address the growing demand for sustainable solutions in segments traditionally dominated by diesel trucks, providing a zero-emission alternative for demanding logistics operations.
