China's Ministry of Transport has officially granted shoreline-use approval for the construction of a new 1.48 billion RMB (approximately $221 million USD) multipurpose terminal at Tianjin Port. This significant development, known as the Huisheng terminal project, is situated within the Beijiang port area of Tianjin.
The primary motivation behind this investment is to address the growing strain on existing berths at Tianjin Port, which have been struggling to cope with a substantial increase in steel and general cargo volumes. The new terminal is designed to expand the port's capacity and improve its ability to handle diverse cargo types, including breakbulk and project cargo.
