Representatives from the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI/ILFA) recently visited the East Java Multipurpose Terminal (EJMT) in Lamongan, operated by ICTSI. The primary objective of this meeting was to explore opportunities for strengthening trade connections and improving cargo movement between East Java and the Eastern regions of Indonesia. This initiative comes as commercial activities between these areas are expanding, leading to a greater need for more streamlined and efficient transportation networks.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies potential improvements in domestic shipping routes within Indonesia. Enhanced connectivity and efficiency at EJMT could lead to reduced transit times and potentially lower operational costs for shipments moving between East Java and Eastern Indonesia. This collaboration may also result in more reliable scheduling and increased capacity, which are crucial for managing supply chains effectively in a growing market.
