HGK Group is set to inaugurate a new 27,000-square-meter trimodal logistics center within the Port of Hamburg in 2026. This facility will integrate direct rail access, significantly enhancing the port's capabilities for handling freight across multiple transport modes: rail, road, and sea.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new hub signifies improved efficiency and flexibility for cargo movements in and out of Hamburg. The direct rail connection will likely reduce reliance on road transport for certain legs, potentially leading to faster transit times and reduced costs for intermodal shipments. It also offers enhanced capacity and better schedule reliability for cargo moving through one of Europe's busiest ports, especially for shipments utilizing rail for inland distribution or collection.
