Logistics company cargo-partner, part of Nippon Express Holdings, reported a significant reduction in CO₂e emissions during the first six months of the year. The firm achieved an 811-tonne decrease in carbon equivalent emissions by participating in Hapag-Lloyd’s 'Ship Green' solution. This involved the consumption of 259.46 tonnes of biofuel derived from waste and residues within Hapag-Lloyd's vessel fleet between January and June.
The emissions savings were calculated on a Well-to-Wake basis, comparing the biofuel's impact against the emissions that would have resulted from conventional fossil fuels. This initiative is part of cargo-partner's strategy to offer certified lower-emission transport options, assisting its customers in achieving their own sustainability objectives.
