Arabian Drilling, recognized as Saudi Arabia's largest onshore and offshore drilling contractor based on its fleet size, is preparing to launch new multi-well drilling assignments off the coast of Oman. These operations are scheduled to commence before the end of the current quarter, marking a significant expansion of the company's operational footprint within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
This development signifies continued investment and activity in the offshore energy sector in the Middle East. For freight forwarders, this means potential demand for specialized logistics services, including the transport of heavy-lift equipment, project cargo, and other supplies necessary for offshore drilling operations. This could lead to increased breakbulk and project cargo volumes to Omani ports, impacting vessel availability and port logistics for oversized and heavy shipments.
