Texel Air Australasia has finalized an agreement to operate its air cargo charter services from the recently developed Cargo Precinct at Western Sydney International (WSI) Airport. The new 24-hour cargo facility is scheduled to become operational this month. Qantas Freight is also among the initial carriers slated to begin flights from this new hub, with its first cargo flight expected on the evening of July 27.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this new operational base for Texel Air Australasia signifies an increase in air cargo capacity and flexibility for charter solutions in the Sydney market. The 24-hour operation of the WSI Cargo Precinct will allow for greater scheduling freedom, potentially reducing transit times and offering more options for time-sensitive or specialized cargo. The addition of another carrier at a new airport also diversifies routing possibilities and could introduce competitive pricing for airfreight services to and from Western Sydney.
