Quehenberger Logistics, in collaboration with the Geis Group, has entered into a major contract with MAN for the supply of a maximum of 350 new trucks. The agreement comprises a firm commitment for 150 vehicles, alongside an option to purchase an additional 200 trucks. All these new vehicles are expected to be delivered by March 2028.
This multi-million euro investment signifies a strategic move by both logistics providers to upgrade and expand their road transport fleets. The acquisition of new MAN trucks will likely improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance the reliability of their services across their operational networks.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development indicates a commitment to robust road transport infrastructure by key European logistics players. The increased fleet size and modernization could lead to improved capacity and potentially better service reliability for overland shipments, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe where Quehenberger and Geis have strong presences. While not directly impacting rates immediately, a more efficient fleet can contribute to stable or competitive pricing in the long term by optimizing operational costs.
This fleet renewal is part of an ongoing trend within the logistics sector to invest in newer, more efficient vehicles to meet growing demand and comply with evolving environmental standards.
