Marine construction contractor Ocean Installer, a subsidiary of Moreld, has exercised an option to prolong its charter agreement for the 2014-built construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Vision. This extension ensures the vessel, owned by Solstad Maritime, will remain in operation under Ocean Installer's control through the end of 2028, directly following the conclusion of the existing contract. The agreement also includes certain amendments.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals involved in project cargo and offshore logistics, this extension signifies continued stability in the availability of specialized vessels like the Normand Vision. Such CSVs are crucial for complex subsea and offshore energy projects, impacting the planning and execution of heavy-lift and oversized cargo movements to support these operations. The sustained demand for such vessels can influence charter rates and lead times for similar specialized tonnage in the market.
