Aircargo Transport has recently integrated ten new two-axle Van Eck mega-refrigerated trailers into its operational fleet. These trailers are specifically engineered for the transportation of temperature-sensitive air freight, holding FNA certification for controlled environments. A key feature of these new units is their specialized roller bed system, which facilitates the efficient loading and unloading of air cargo pallets.
This latest acquisition marks a continuation of a collaborative relationship between Aircargo Transport and Van Eck, which dates back to the 1980s. The introduction of these trailers means that over half of Aircargo Transport's approximately 100-strong fleet now consists of Van Eck equipment.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this fleet expansion signals increased capacity for temperature-controlled air cargo movements, particularly for goods requiring precise environmental conditions. The specialized roller bed system is expected to streamline handling processes, potentially reducing turnaround times at air cargo hubs and improving overall efficiency in the landside leg of airfreight logistics. This could lead to more reliable and potentially faster transit times for sensitive shipments.
